Equality Can’t Wait!

Camille Sherrod, Kean NOMAS’ advisor is calling for EQUALITY!

Camille Sherrod, a faculty at Kean University’s Michael Graves College of Design and Architecture has always celebrated and encouraged diversity in our profession. She didn’t hesitate to answer the call to become Kean NOMAS’s advisor and is once more setting a great examples for architecture students.

Read below her statement in fighting for equality.

“In two impactful areas of our culture - architecture and design - minority women are vastly underrepresented. The Michael Graves College proposal for the Equality Can't Wait Challenge addresses the critical need to increase the creative content of minority women in architecture and design. Established at Kean University, a Title III, Minority Serving Institution, the proposal will build-out a scalable model for other minority serving universities with an ultimate goal of self-sustainability and meaningful progress towards equity.”

The Equality Can't Wait Challenge funded by Pivotal Ventures, Melinda Gates’ investment and incubation company, with additional support from MacKenzie Scott and the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, will award $40 million to help expand women’s power and influence in the United States by 2030.
