NJ NOMA TALKS

Please join us virtually on Monday, February 21st from 7:00pm - 8:00pm for a talk with Richard Franklin, NOMA, AIA as he shares highlights of his architectural journey and the meaning and importance of mentoring

Richard Franklin was honored in 2014 with the Sam Fox School Dean’s Medal at Washington University in St. Louis. He has been honored throughout his career for design management; from community planning and community based housing and health facilities designs in his early years to his work in multimodal and aviation transportation for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in the 1990’s, and recently, for his design management of the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. Richard has also been recognized for mentoring students, architects and community advocates, as well as for being the first African American to enroll in Washington University’s School of Architecture, graduating with a BA in Architecture and Master of Architecture and Urban Design.

Some examples: environmental projects such as the region’s first trash to energy facility – Resource Recovery Plant - in Elizabeth NJ: economic development projects in the region’s blighted areas such as the Bronx Industrial Park Project, and a significant management role in the redevelopment of all three New York/New Jersey airports.

We look forward to your continued participation and having you spend a virtual moment with NJNOMA Talks
